Clubs & Organizations
Middle School Athletics
Students in grades 7-12 are eligible to participate in interscholastic athletics according to the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA). The Bexley Recreation and Parks Department, the Jewish Community Center, and other local organizations offer a variety of youth sport leagues for younger students. For more information, go to the Athletics website.
Middle School Theatre Arts
Each year the Theatre Department puts on a school play and musical as well as other, smaller performances. For performance auditions, students will be asked to perform cold reads from the provided script. For crew participation, there is an interview process. Participation cost per year: $25. Dates and additional details are available on the Theatre Arts website.
Pride Pass
A Pride Pass can be purchased by any student for $75. The Pride Pass gives them free admission to all middle and high school home athletic events (excluding OHSAA & MSL tournaments), as well as all theater department productions.
Students with a fee waiver approved by the superintendent can receive a free Pride Pass. Fee waiver application forms are included with registration materials. The Bexley City School District does not want students to miss out on any academic, co-curricular, or extra-curricular opportunities due to finances.
If at any point in the year, a student is in need of financial assistance to participate, please notify the principal, counselor, athletic director, or coach/ advisor.

Newspaper Club
The Newspaper Club aims to report interesting and relevant news to students, staff, parents, and the community through its school newspaper, The Beacon. Club members brainstorm article ideas, which are then assigned voluntarily. Students are solely responsible for writing the articles. The club supervisor edits the articles upon completion and prepares issues for publication. The Beacon is published digitally and distributed to all students, with paper copies available in the BMS Office and upon request.
Ski Club
Beginning in January, Bexley Middle School will participate in the Ski Club at Mad River Mountain on Thursday evenings. This is open to all middle school students, grades 6-8. We are limited to 100 students based on bussing. Applications for this club will be distributed in October and all registration documents and transportation fees will be collected by the end of October.
Student Council
Student Council is open to all students in grades 6 through 8 and meets weekly; all students are welcome – no need to be elected. Student Council members help plan events like Spirit Weeks, Dances, Teacher Appreciation, and more. The club is always open to new members and ideas!
